How to Connect Codex CLI to ReelsFarm MCP

Codex CLI supports MCP servers through its configuration system. Connect ReelsFarm and Codex can generate UGC avatars, create slideshows, and publish to TikTok and Instagram from the terminal. Here is how to set it up.
Codex CLI is an AI coding agent from the terminal. ReelsFarm MCP adds social media content creation to what it can do.
Connect them and Codex generates UGC alongside your code.
Step 1: Create an API Key
Sign up at reelsfarm.com. You need an active paid plan. MCP server access is included on all plans.
Go to account settings, open the MCP tab, and create an API key. Copy it immediately. It will not be shown again.
Step 2: Add ReelsFarm to Codex MCP Config
Codex CLI uses an MCP configuration file to connect to servers. Add ReelsFarm MCP with your API key to that config.
The ReelsFarm MCP server runs over HTTP. Codex connects to it over the network. No local server process to manage.
Step 3: Restart Codex
Restart Codex CLI or reload the MCP configuration. Codex discovers ReelsFarm's tools through the protocol on startup.
Step 4: Confirm the Connection
Ask Codex to list your social accounts. A successful response confirms the MCP connection works.
Step 5: Generate and Publish
Tell Codex what content you need. A TikTok slideshow for a product. An AI avatar in a specific style. A UGC scene with a product composited naturally.
Codex calls ReelsFarm tools to generate drafts. You review each draft. You approve. Content publishes or schedules.
